Calculation disclaimer: This calculator sums the prices and rates you enter. It does not provide retailer quotes, market price predictions or default labor costs. Check actual supplier terms, measurements, taxes and fees before ordering.

How the project cost is calculated

1. Materials from your quotes

Materials = your entered material-only unit price × window quantity. Window dimensions do not change that unit price.

2. Services & extras

For professional installation, enter a per-blind labor quote and any fixed visit fee. DIY adds no professional labor. Motorization, removal and other fees are entered separately when used.

3. Tax & reserve

Tax the selected categories using your rate, then apply contingency to the subtotal plus tax. Blank optional rates count as zero.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do blinds cost per window or for a whole home?
There is no standard price per window. Enter the material price per blind from your own quote, plus any applicable labor and upgrade fees. This tool totals only your entered costs.
How do window size and measurements affect the estimate?
This calculator does not calculate a price from window dimensions or blind type. Get a unit quote from your supplier for each variation, then group units with the same quoted material price.
What is the difference between material-only and installed cost?
Enter only the materials portion of the price per blind. If a supplier quote includes installation, request a breakdown before adding any labor fee to avoid double counting.
Can I add blinds that have different unit prices?
Yes. Enter the quantity for one quoted unit price, then add another price group if any blinds have a different unit price. You can combine up to 20 groups and 200 blinds. No manufacturer quote or quantity discount is generated.
Does this calculator predict market prices?
No. It contains no default material prices, labor rates or low/high market forecasts. Results appear only after you enter all required prices for the selected services.
How are sales taxes handled in the US and Canada?
Enter your own tax percentage and select which costs are taxable. The tool does not automatically determine state, provincial, or local tax laws. Check your actual vendor invoice and applicable rules.
Does DIY mean installation is free?
DIY adds no professional installation labor. You can still enter removal, hardware, delivery, tools and other costs you expect to pay.
Does changing to Canada convert my entered prices?
No. Changing region clears monetary amounts without converting currencies. Enter new USD or CAD unit quotes for the selected region; quantities remain unchanged.
