This fuel cost calculator estimates the total cost of a driving trip using distance, vehicle efficiency, and local fuel or electricity price. US mode uses miles, MPG, gallons, and kWh per mile. Canada mode uses kilometres, L/100 km, litres, and kWh per 100 km.

⛽ How do I calculate gas cost for a trip?
In US mode, divide miles by MPG and multiply the estimated gallons by the price per gallon. In Canada mode, multiply kilometres by L/100 km, divide by 100, and multiply the estimated litres by the price per litre.
⚡ Can I use this calculator for an electric vehicle?
Yes. Switch to electric vehicle mode and enter distance, kWh per mile in US mode or kWh per 100 km in Canada mode, plus the electricity rate. The calculator estimates total EV energy cost and cost per mile or kilometre. Charging losses are not added automatically, so actual electricity purchased from the grid may be higher.
